We have been working with our kit partner, Hope+Glory, to provide members with a number of away kit options for next season’s kit.
We made a commitment to keep our kits for two seasons when we announced our partnership with Hope+Glory last year. To allow us to change home and away kits in alternate years, we would need to change the away kit from the start of the 2021/22 season. We will keep the maroon and gold away kit for the foreseeable future as our third kit, and make sure we get plenty of use out of it whenever we can. It sold really well, and it won’t be going anywhere for now.
We used last summer’s World Cup of Away Kits to inform the choice of colours for the new kit and asked Hope+Glory to put a modern spin on the classic chocolate and blue colours of Bury in the 1890s, which narrowly lost out to the winning maroon and gold kit, as selected in the final vote.
We’ve had to navigate a few issues in the design, not least the fact that the referees in the North West Counties League wear black. So too much of any dark colour on a shirt can be a problem. We also need to consider a few practicalities around the choice of shorts and socks once the shirt has been selected.
However, once again, we think Hope+Glory’s design team have done us proud. We have four designs for you to choose from and the winner will be on sale well ahead of the new season, as we are able to plan much further in advance this year, and Hope+Glory have made some improvements that should speed up distribution.
We will start revealing the options to all over this weekend (19th – 21st), with members receiving their email to vote next week by ranking each kit in order of preference so that a clear winner will be established.
We hope you like them and enjoy deciding on your favourite!
