We are delighted to announce our latest signing, defender Tommy Lent.
Tommy, who plays predominately as a centre-half, started his career at Oldham Athletic before spending time at Radcliffe, Padiham, Skelmersdale United and New Mills.
Manager Andy Welsh said: “Having tried to get Tommy from his time at Oldham Athletic, he’s a player who’s dropped out of the professional system and needs to reignite his potential.
“What I like about Tommy is he has the potential to be with us for years to come; he’s a great defender, both either centrally or at full-back but has a great understanding of the game also. With experience around him, we expect big things for him this season with the defensive qualities he has.
“Like all the defenders, we expect him to fight for his place and we have great competition in all positions with this addition and others to follow.”
Upon signing for the club, Tommy had the following to say: “To play for Bury AFC is an opportunity I definitely couldn’t miss out on. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to get started.”
Welcome to Bury AFC, Tommy!
