Incoming: Mitch Bryant

Our latest signing is 29-year-old striker, Mitch Bryant. Mitch joins us from Colwyn Bay where he was their top scorer with 14 goals for Craig Hogg’s side.

He can also create goals, making 12 assists last season.

A product of the Manchester United Academy, Mitch signed his first pro-contract with Reading in 2008, where he was loaned out to Basingstoke Town in the Conference South and achieved the rare feat of scoring a double hat-trick against Weymouth.

He also had spells at Gloucester City, Hungerford Town, Swindon Supermarine, Cirencester Town, Cambridge City, Frome Town, Royston Town, and Hitchin Town, before moving back to Manchester in 2014.

There he had two spells with Mossley and also spent time at Trafford and Clitheroe before joining Runcorn Linnets in 2017 and then signing for Colwyn Bay last summer.

On joining the club Mitch said: “To say I’m excited to be joining Bury AFC is an understatement. To be a part of the project being started here is something I couldn’t ignore. Getting games back on and fans in the ground is something we can’t wait for. I’m sure the fans will be excited by the squad the gaffer is putting together and we can really make this first season one to remember.”

Manager Andy Welsh added: “Mitch leads the line with his experience and helps bring others into play, I’ve no doubt the fans will love him. Like all players at this club, without kicking a ball the expectation on us is huge. The experience Mitch has is very important and will add to the spine of our team both on and off the field.

“He’s had a good career in non-league but I can tell that he’s desperate to kick on again. As top scorer for Colwyn last season, we feel this signing could be a great fit for club and player. I can already tell when speaking to Mitch that the opportunity to play in front of a huge crowd will be one he thrives upon.”

Bury AFC has submitted the required forms to gain international clearance for Mitch’s registration from Colwyn Bay.
