We were confirmed as having a place in the NWCFL Division One North last week, but work going on in the background has moved apace throughout. We have announced the badge and the kit supplier in the last week and there will be more exciting announcements over the coming days and weeks as we build to the start of the season.
It has been indicated via FA & NWCFL documentation that football fixtures in our league intend to start from 5th September 2020. We await formal confirmation of this and release of the league fixtures in due course. However, the season draws close regardless and we need your assistance in this!
Whether you are a Shakers Community member, actively volunteered to date or not, what will no doubt make Bury AFC a success will be down to getting games of football played and making it an enjoyable experience for all who wish to attend.
It is likely that limits will be placed on the numbers of fans who are able to attend at first while all of football comes to terms of dealing with social distancing in and around grounds. We are in the process of reviewing the guidelines delivered so far, working with them and planning for each scenario accordingly as they will no doubt change over time.
In respect of these preparations, we have been looking at what will be required to host a match day and have identified we will require volunteers in a number of areas, including:
- Turnstile Operators
- Parking Co-ordinators
- Access Stewards – controlling the various gates around the ground
- Programme Vendors
- Administrators – to ensure we are compliant with league rules.
